This year’s best paint colors for staging your home

different pain colors for home

A fresh coat of paint goes a long way when it comes to selling your home. With the right colors, you can easily transform your home into a welcoming and inviting one. Neutral colors, in particular, allow the buyer to envision themselves living in the home without distracting the buyer’s eye.

Here are the best paint colors to use:

  1. Beige is back

Beige is one of the most popular colors used for home staging. While deemed “boring,” a few good years, beige is back – and for good reason. This neutral color gives the space a warm, inviting, and comfortable feel. Beige works best for bedrooms, the bathroom, and the entryway.

When choosing a particular shade of beige, check the undertones first. Beige typically has three undertones: yellow, red, and green. Make sure that the beige  you pick, along with its undertone, complements the rest of the colors of the room.

  2. Gray is timeless

Gray goes with plenty of colors, making it a favorite for home staging. It’s versatile and can be used on walls, kitchen cabinets, and even bedrooms.

If you do choose gray for staging, go for warmer tones. It also helps to look at the amount of natural lighting in the room. Rooms that receive less natural light benefit from light gray because it makes the room feel bigger and brighter.

  3. Greige is a cool mix of gray and beige

A combination of beige and grey, greige remains a widely popular decorating color. Greige expands a room, making it feel roomier, brighter, and more elegant. Its versatility allows you to pair it with warm or cool tones.

Greige works best in the living room, kitchen, and bathroom – key areas that buyers are most interested in.  Since greige goes with any color, think of the look you want to achieve before deciding on the kind of shade that works.

  4. Creamy shades of white is the updated neutral

While using stark white is a no-no, its creamy shades such as off-white, cloud white, and bone white are better for staging a home. These shades give the home a clean look while keeping it warm and inviting.  Use this updated neutral in the living room, bathroom, or bedrooms.

  5. Navy blue as an accent color

A dark color like navy blue is a great way to strengthen the focal point of a room. It also adds more depth and makes the room feel more sophisticated. Navy blue is best on a featured accent wall or in a room with light-colored furniture.

  6. Golden yellow pops

If you’re looking for a pop of color, golden yellow does the trick. Rich and jewel-toned, this color brings warmth and charm when daubed on walls or cabinets. It also goes well with wooden tones and earthy shades. Just make sure to use a shade with a creamy or golden wheat undertone so as not to overpower the rest of the room.
